Until I post my next EFC17 podcast (which should be soon) you might want to give a listen to my Conestoga 11 Podcast interview with artist John Picacio.

I know a few lucky individuals going to Worldon in Yokohama, Japan this year. One of them is artist John Picacio. I know this because I interviewed him over at the Conestoga Podcast. He’s been nominated for two Hugo awards: Best Professional Artist and Best Related Book - Cover Story: The Art of John Picacio. I also know a few of the people bidding for WorldCon 2009 in Kansas, City. In fact, I interviewed Margene Bahm last year for Conestoga 10 and we talked about their bid. Lastly, the man who inspired me to get into podasting, Paul Fischer of the Balticon Podcast will be going as well.

Nihongo ga wakarimasen means ‘I don’t understand Japanese’. I took one semester and have forgotten most of it. It’s a cool language. It’s much easier to learn the spoken part than written part. Hirigana & katakana are easy. Learning the 1900 plus Kanji characters are … well … a lot. I think I learned 5 of them.

Yeah, I’m doing a little cross promotion between both of my podcasts.

UPDATE [8/23/2007] I will be posting from time to time a podcast from the Conestoga Podcast feed. I will not be adding any show notes. You can go to the Conestoga website for that. These interviews are ones that may be of interest to EFC17 listeners. I would appreciate any feedback if you like the occasional crossfeed post.

This is a general introduction to what this whole podcast thingy is about.

Disclaimer - what it is not.

I also host the Conestoga Podcast.

What is it about?

Geekdom, fandom, conventions, interviews and stuff.

Attended Archon 31/NASFIC/Tuckercon and a good time was had by all.

Met the podcasting crew of Fear the Boot.

Also met Tee Morris.

Show will evolve over time. Much is planned. Three interviews on the way.
